Metalcaucho sponsors the Sant Cugat team at the Panda Raid

Before starting the race, they presented their adventure to the public in two events, with the participation of the mayor of Sant Cugat del Vallès, Mireia Ingla

Metalcaucho, a BBB Industries (BBB) brand and a leading European supplier of aftermarket spare parts in rubber and metal for the automotive sector, is sponsoring the Sant Cugat Team in the 15th edition of the Panda Raid. The team is led by Ubald de Azpiazu and Joan Molinera. In recent years, the team finished third (2018) and second (2022).

The Panda Raid is an amateur long-distance endurance rally held annually in Morocco. This year, it will be held from April 28 to May 6, 2023, with 270 participants.  Through six stages, the physical and mental capabilities of the teams are measured, as well as the mechanical endurance of the vehicles. The teams are formed by Ubald de Azpiazu Artigas and Ubald de Azpiazu Nadal (father and son), driving a Seat Panda, and Joan Molinera Giménez and Luis González Rubio aboard a Seat Marbella.

Before the race started, the Sant Cugat team held two events in the neighboring Barcelona town of Rubí (where Metalcaucho has its facilities), to present their project, show the cars to the public, and share the experiences of their past adventures driving in Morocco. First, they were on April 22 at the Mirasol Centre Shopping Center, and on April 25 they exhibited their vehicles in front of the town hall of Sant Cugat del Vallès, with the visit of the mayoress Mireia Ingla, who was interested in all the details of their adventure.

Metalcaucho is delighted to collaborate with this event, as the Panda Raid is a rally that is conscious and committed to the natural and social environment. In past editions, they have collaborated in the construction and development of a bioclimatic school for children in Ait Ahmed, as well as in promoting beekeeping and the maintenance of biodiversity in the forest of Mesguina.
