Metalcaucho launches sports project with victory in Pujada Alcover 2021

The Nissan Micra, prepared and piloted by workers, finishes first in the Junior category of the Lluis Costa Challenge and second in the vehicle category N

Metalcaucho, european leading supplier of aftermarket spare parts in rubber and metal for the automotive sector, returns to bet on its workers to form a car team. The objective is twofold, to foster the camaraderie and teamwork among the most passionate Metalcaucho employees in the motor world, and to test the resistance of their spare parts in a real environment.

In 2019 Metalcaucho prepared a Nissan Micra III K12 160 SR, with which they ran several mountain rallies, and even won the Track Day of the Circuit de Calafat. The pandemic in 2020 put the project on hold, but now that the situation begins to allow it, it resurfaces with force again. The premiere of this season started last Sunday, March 21, in a mountain race in Tarragona, the Pujada a Alcover.

This test involves the formation of a new team. To fine-tune the vehicle, Juan Mármol, a renowned mechanic with extensive experience in high competition and a member of the Metalcaucho Quality Department, had the help of Arnau Nieto and Jordi Priego, two components of the Guarantee department and motor enthusiasts. For the responsibility of driving the steering wheel, Metalcaucho has a young talent in his house, Pol Castells.

This 20-year-old young man checks the spare parts at the Metalcaucho Quality Laboratory, a job that he combines with his passion for the world of racing. He started his sporting career in karting and already in 2019 he made his debut in cars, getting 1 victory and 2 podiums in various rallies.

In this premiere in 2021, the Metalcaucho team has managed to finish first in the Junior category, scoring for the Lluis Costa Challenge, and second in category N. In addition, it managed to finish in a creditable twentieth position among the more than 60 runners from various categories that had registered in this mountain race, the Pujada a Alcover, a town near Barcelona, Spain. Surely we will soon hear about the Metalcaucho automotive team.
