New victory for the Metalcaucho Racing Team in the 6-hours race of Calafat Circuit

The Nissan Micra piloted by Metalcaucho workers and testing their own spare parts, won in its category and finished second in the general

Metalcaucho continues to celebrate the good results of its automotive team, the Metalcaucho Racing Team, which with its Nissan Micra III K12 160 SR returned to compete in the 6-hours endurance race at the Calafat Circuit (Tarragona) held last Saturday, April 24. The final result was very satisfactory, as they achieved victory in their category (SeriesCat Class 1) and finished second in the general classification.

 The Metalcaucho Racing Team run its second race of the year, after recently running the mountain race from Pujada to Alcover, and continues to test the resistance of its spare parts in a real environment. This project, in addition to being a reliable test bench for its parts, also has the objective of fostering camaraderie and teamwork among the most passionate Metalcaucho employees in the motor world.

Metalcaucho already competed in this automobile event in Calafat last November 2019, also winning in its category. The Endurance Track Day is a motor experience that wants to bring motorsport closer to the motoring enthusiast in a safe environment, such as a permanent speed circuit, with series vehicles with few modifications. The goal is to be a gateway to motor racing, and to enjoy this experience to the fullest.

This race, which is part of the Endurance Racing League competition, was held at the Calafat Circuit (Tarragona), a unique track, one of the most technical and physical in Spain. Its 9 curves to the right, 7 to the left, a 600 m straight. and a track width of 10 m., they draw a sinuous and very fun route of 3,250 m. If the pandemic situation allows it, a new race is scheduled to be held on July 11.

On this occasion the team of drivers consisted of Kike García, Piero Tagliavia, Lluís Vial and Borja Rigol, taking turns at the steering wheel. As for the mechanical team, Juan Mármol, a renowned mechanic with extensive experience in high competition and member of the Metalcaucho Quality Department, was in charge, and he had the help of Arnau Nieto, Jordi Priego, and Pol Castells, all components of the departments of Quality and Guarantees, and passionate about the motorsport.
