Metalcaucho, leading European supplier of aftermarket spare parts in rubber and metal for the automotive sector, wants to do its bit in training the mechanics of the future. That is why on February 24, one of the leading members of the quality department of the Barcelona-based company, Juan Mármol, visited the Centre Tècnic del Vallès (CTV), to give a speech to students of Automotive Vocational Training.
This conference was held as part of the week of career guidance that the School prepares each year, with the aim of providing an external point of view, expanding the vision of students about the different job opportunities. The talk given by the Metalcaucho employee dealt with the importance of the predisposition of each person to face new challenges and strive for their professional goals, and the students’ participation and questions were of great importance.
According to Juan Mármol “it was a great experience. I told them about my experience as a mechanic and in companies in the sector. I emphasized that almost everything is a matter of attitude. For example, to those who like mechanics in Motorsport, I advise them not to be afraid to knock on the corresponding doors, and offer to collaborate to learn in that world”.
According to Edgar Girón, CTV professor, “the students were very satisfied with the speaker’s explanations and the resolution of doubts. We believe that it was of great interest to them, and we believe that this type of contributions are a good link between training and the professional field. We are very grateful for Metalcaucho’s collaboration; it’s important for companies in the sector to approach future professionals in the sector”.
The CTV is an automotive vocational training school linked to the Girona Technical School group of centers, specialists in vocational training since 1990. Juan Mármol is a renowned mechanic with extensive experience in high competition, including participation in the Dakar rally, or collaborating with manufacturers in the automotive sector, such as Nissan and Seat, and who has been working at Metalcaucho for 6 years now, providing technical support in product analysis and contributing his knowledge in mechanics to the different departments of the company.
With this first action, Metalcaucho and the Centre Tècnic del Vallès start a link between company and school, in which several formulas of collaboration are studied for a common path, beneficial for both parties. On the one hand, donation of material by the European leader in spare parts to the school to provide technical training for its students, and thus facilitate practical learning thanks to having access to real products. And on the other hand, the presentation of candidates in the company’s job bank, and thus help students in the insertion into the real labor market, and specifically in a company in the automotive sector, being the specialty they have studied.
We have been creating spare parts and rubber and metal accessories for the automotive industry for more than 30 years, working with virtually all the international brands.
