The company of Barcelona, because of digital vocation and environmental awareness, minimizes the consumption of paper and toner, and organizes a blood donation campaign among its employees

Metalcaucho continues betting on the ESG revolution and fostering solidarity among its employees. Thus, during this year 2019 from Metalcaucho they have made a important decision, practically stop printing delivery notes and invoices to minimize the use of paper and toner. Not so much for saving costs, but for a digital vocation and environmental awareness.

On the other hand, last December 12 they organized a very special day, a day of solidarity donating blood. For this, a mobile unit of the Blood and Body Tissues Bank came, which was attending throughout the morning a large group of workers who wanted to be part of this initiative, to provide positive contributions to the neediest in our society.

The ESG revolution, a term coined at the 2018 Davos World Economic Forum, seeks to convey the relevance and magnitude of incorporating the ESG criteria (environmental, social and governance) in the resolution processes linked to investments. It is an unstoppable, revolutionary and profitable phenomenon, financially and socially, and Metalcaucho wants to be part of it.

For all these reasons, Metalcaucho contributes its grain of sand in the care of the environment, and has led it to practically stop printing delivery notes and invoices, with the exception of certain countries where they are necessary for customs clearance. Merchandise leaves its warehouses with packing list as documentation, and invoices are only sent by email. In addition, orders for warehouse workers are also not printed, since the entire system operates by radio frequency. Technology as a tool to help care for the planet.

This decision represents a considerable saving of paper, approximately 1,000 folios per day, which translates annually in an amount equivalent to 30 trees, which would be the ones necessary for the manufacture of so much paper. Avoiding printing so much paper also reduces ink consumption, about 30 annual toners. We remember that these cartridges for printers and photocopiers contain toxic and dangerous components for the environment.
