Despite extreme weather conditions, both team vehicles finish strong in the iconic rally
Barcelona (Spain), April 28, 2025 – TERREPOWER, a global leader in sustainable manufacturing for the industrial automotive markets, proudly supported the Sant Cugat team in this year’s Panda Raid through its product brand, Metalcaucho—Europe’s top supplier of aftermarket rubber and metal spare parts. The sponsorship reflects TERREPOWER’s ongoing commitment to sustainability, adventure, and community engagement.
The Panda Raid, an amateur rally across Morocco’s Sahara desert, is known not only for its rugged terrain but also for its focus on environmental and social responsibility. This year, however, brought unprecedented weather challenges. Torrential rain and hail turned desert routes into mud pits, prompting organizers to cancel the first two of six stages due to impassable tracks and river crossings.
Despite the tough conditions, both Sant Cugat vehicles powered through the remaining stages. Competing in the 4x2 category against 128 other teams, the two cars crossed the finish line in 33rd place (J. Molinera / J.M. Gutiérrez) and 40th place (U. de Azpiazu / J. Guerra), respectively. While the results fell short of podium finishes, the team’s resilience and performance in such difficult conditions were a point of pride.
Through Metalcaucho, TERREPOWER is honored to once again support the Sant Cugat team in a rally that aligns with its values of perseverance, sustainability, and global citizenship. The spirit of Panda Raid—and of those who take part in it—mirrors TERREPOWER’s own drive to move forward, no matter the challenge.
