Before starting the race, they presented their adventure to the public in two events, in a shopping center and in front of Sant Cugat’s town hall.
Metalcaucho, a BBB Industries brand of aftermarket rubber and metal spare parts for the automotive sector, is sponsoring the Sant Cugat Team in the 15th edition of the Panda Raid. In recent years, the team finished third (2018) and second (2022).
The Panda Raid is an amateur long-distance endurance rally held annually in Morocco. This year, it will be held from March 1 to March 8, 2024, with 340 participants. Through six stages, the physical and mental capabilities of the teams are measured, as well as the mechanical endurance of the vehicles. The team is led by Ubald de Azpiazu, driving a Seat Panda, and Joan Molinera, aboard a Seat Marbella.
Before the race started, the Sant Cugat team held two events in the neighboring Barcelona town of Rubà (where Metalcaucho has its facilities), to present their project, show the cars to the public, and share the experiences of their past adventures driving in Morocco. First, they were on February 24 at the Mirasol Centre Shopping Center, and on February 27 they exhibited their vehicles in front of the town hall of Sant Cugat del Vallès.
